~HE DID IT! CRASH BOOM BAH!~

~MEASURE TWICE - CUT ONCE~

My Mr. AGPMan and I originally had plans to go to a movie last night (I've been wanting to see War Horse!) but when he got home he said this:

"Baber...do you want to go to the movies or do you want me to start taking out that wall!?"
(you can read about it HERE!)
 ~SMALLER SAWS MAKE LESS MESS~

I'm silently thinking
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"

And then I said:
"The wall man!  THE WALL!"

~A CUTTING WE WILL GO - A CUTTING WE WILL GO~
And so with that I went back upstairs to finish working on a new little pink pillow for my website.  I assumed (don't you just hate that word!?) he went about doing what he does best (his wifey honey-do projects)!!!
 ~1970 ORIGINAL PANELING COMES DOWN~

I was upstairs for about ten minutes when all of a sudden I heard a big, loud, booming CRASH!!

I said:

"Baber!?  What was THAT?  Are you OK?

(silence!)

"BABER!!!!  WHAT WAS THAT?"

~SHEETROCK COMES OFF NEXT~

This time I heard only a little mumbling.  It sounded more like a desperate cry of repentance than one of actual injury so I asked the question again!

~HALF WAY DONE~

"WHAT WAS THAT!????"

Once again I only heard only the faint sound of my hubby's voice so I ran down the stairs to find out
WHAT had HAPPENED!!!!
~UH-OH!~

I walked into our den and just stood there!!!
Yes!  This is our TV crashed onto the floor.
Only this is AFTER my guy put the front back onto it.

APPARENTLY....my "Mr. He-Can-Do-Anything-Man" was MOVING our TV armoire on sliders and forgot the TV was very front-heavy.  One quick shove from the back and the old and decrepit thing spilled out right onto the floor....
~WHOA!  BIG CHANGES ARE COMING!~

Now...as crazy as this sounds I started laughing sooo hard I couldn't stop.
Then I went and grabbed my camera.

Looks like we will be replacing the ugly black thing with a newer, bigger and UGLIER flat-screen version a bit sooner than we had planned!

KA-CHING!

Yeah...I know what you're all thinking...

You only THOUGHT he was perfect!  NOT!

Anyway...

One side of our wall is down!  I'm HOPING today he'll be able to remove the sheet-rock on the other side!  Then the new support braces will go up (two-story house!) and the opening will be re-framed and trim added.

THEN...wood flooring!

I'm too excited to speak!

(I'm so happy it was my guy who caused the TV crash onto the floor and NOT ME!)

Love to you...

Looks like a BIG project and looks so exciting too. What a good hubby, he reminds me of mine. He would rather get a job done at home than go out and have 'fun'. Me too so we are alike that way.
Can't wait to see the finished job.

Well, I call this progress! And you are getting a new TV to boot! Either you have one heck of a guy or he REALLY doesn't want to see War Horse {I hear it is a tear jerker}.

Can't wait to see what happens next! ;-D

Well, what happened to that day of junkin and slummin and special time spent with hubbs today???
I am sure you are delighted he began work on the new wall demolation, even with the unexcepted crashing of the big black ugly box!! It is really going to open that space up a lot..
can't wait to see the finished effect. I know it will be wonderful like everything else he does!!
I am having one of my "nights"..can not sleep. It's just after 3 AM. I just made a cup of tea and Miss Jolie and I are up. She is watching me as I type and wondering "Momma, when can we go back to bed"?? Poor sweetie. She is my shadow and won't let me out of her sight since she got to come home from the ER small animal hospital at LSU in Baton Rouge. BAD "seperation
anxiety...
Hope you have a productive weekend. Keep us up to date with more pictures!!! I know what you mean about being glad Steve was the one who knocked the TV over!!!

Oh my, I would never let Mr. Sissie tackle a project like that. He would wreck the entire house! LOL!

Better keep an eye on him!

Rebecca,
I had to laugh because my hubby would LOVE for this to happen to the big mother of a TV we have in the LR so he could finally get his 46 inch TV that he has been dying to get. Of course, I say " not until the old TV dies". So Joe would actually be doing the happy dance if this happened to our TV!! I better not let him read this post so it doesn't give him any ideas!! LOL!!
Can't wait to see the room when it is finished!!

Hugs,
Deb

I mean, I want to laugh ... but I kinda feel sorry for Mr. AGP man. But let's look at it this way: all the $$$ he's saving by DIY-ing this project can go to buy a new ugly TV! How's that?! Can't wait to see the completed redo. Hugs ~ Mary

Dear Rebecca, I know for sure that this opening is going to look FABULOUS!!!!!

Once it is finished the french doors will open the two rooms up in a fantastic way. Now I think you have a great excuse to change out the TV soon.....

I loved our chat last night, thanks for taking a moment from your busy day. Give a hug to Steve, blessings always, Maureen.

Do you think he may have done that on purpose just to get a new flatscreen. I wouldn't put it past my hubby to do that.

Your renovation is coming along nicely and the fact that you will get a new flat screen TV is even better. We got a 50" and it is pure pleasure to watch football, movies etc. We had our screen mounted on the wall so there are no armoires, tv stands etc and it looks so much better and gives more space! Also the wires are inside the wall...for a clean look. You will love it when it is all finished. Hardwood floors will be awesome!

Woo Hoo for you getting some MORE work out of Mr. AGP!! And woo hoo (for me) 'cause the sooner YOU get a new big TV, the sooner I'll see how YOU decorate with one before we get one!! Our bedroom tv fell out of our armoire right after we moved into this house, but it didn't break ~ hubby caught it on it's way down!!

Hello Rebecca
You're so lucky hubby can do the work himself, think of the money you're saving. My hubby is handy too and laid all the hardwood flooring in our house last winter. (and he does most everything else too)
Even I could see all the way from Ontario that the TV is outdated. LOL A nice new flat screen would be much nicer! And, a reward for Mr. AGP's hard work.
Hugs,
Judith

Omigosh...Rebecca...I'm laughing SO HARD right now! Want to know why? Because a little over a year ago, the EXACT SAME THING happened at our house. Hubbin was rearranging the living room (at my request and in preparation for a new flat-screen at some point). I had vacated the scene to work downstairs in my girl cave. And then...same ear-splitting crash...same silence followed by mumbling...same race UP the stairs...same look of humble disbelief on my sweetie's face. I feigned sympathy...but, secretly I was delighted...because I had been wanting a new TV and cabinet FOREVER...and I got them a lot sooner because of this. TOO FUNNY!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I be here...just busy with lots of other things. But, I'll always find the time to check in with you!

Rebecca,
I am just now catching up with blog reading! I can't help but think of what happened to us and our TV!
We our do it ourselves people on most things as well. Your husband reminds me so much of mine :) Right before Amber passed away we had finished a huge addition and remodel of the living area ... hardwood floors, etc. We had finished the hardwood floors (hickory) the day before and it was very expensive. We had taken our huge dinosaur of a TV out of the cabinet and worked around it for days moving it out of the way. We were picking up the TV to put it back in the cabinet and the plastic casing around the TV broke into a thousand pieces and the insides of the TV fell onto the hardwood floor and dented it in several places :( I just sat in the floor and cried! I was bleeding (nothing serious). All I could think about was my new floor! I didn't even want to look at it! Luckily the floor had just a few places that were dented and we could have really been hurt. I had seveal bruises on myself and my hubby was okay. I can laugh about it now! My husband filled in the dents and no one would ever know. Needless to say my husband went that afternoon and bought a new flatscreen TV and we love it. It fit perfectly in our cabinet. Now I have one in my bedroom. They just are so much cleaner looking. So be glad the TV fell out before you put in your new hardwoods! I just had to share this with you!
I can't wait to see you new rooms!
Have fun creating!
Hugs,
Donna
